If you’re frustrated or confused about what  to do here’s some tips that can help you get through your auto accident:

Stay Calm: Our greatest weapon against stress is the ability to choose one thought over  another. Staying calm will help you be able to process all the information while you’re  dealing with your accident.

Move Your Vehicle: If anybody is injured do not attempt to remove them from the vehicle.  Removing them from the vehicle could cause their injuries to get worse and could make  you liable for their injuries.

Call the Police: After an accident, you should always call the police to the scene of the  accident. Calling the police ensures that there is a record of the police being called out to  the scene of the accident. It also requires the police officers to create a police report. The  police report will ensure that all the pertinent information is captured and all the  information on the other parties involved in the accident is accurate. Additionally, this will  make sure that you’re getting correct information and not outdated insurance information from the other drivers.

Call Your Insurance Company: Once you’re done with the police, you will want to give  your insurance agent or your insurance company a call to report a claim on your policy.  If you hit by another driver, you may want to just go ahead and give the other driver’s  insurance company a call and file a claim on their policy. In either case, you should  receive a claim number and be contacted by an insurance adjuster within the next day or  two.
