According to a spokesperson for the Florida Highway Patrol, a crash involving two cars in Miami Gardens has taken the lives of three people and left a fourth person injured. The Florida Highway Patrol says the crash took place around 1am last night in Miami Gardens near the intersection of NW 2nd Avenue and 204th Street. According to a spokesperson for the Florida Highway Patrol, a woman driving a gray Nissan Altima was attempting to make a left turn when she turned directly into the path of a black Kia Sorento SUV. The driver of the Nissan Altima and her two passengers were killed instantly while the driver of the Kia Sorento was airlifted to a nearby hospital. The driver of the Nissan Altima was at fault for the crash because she turned into the path of the Kia which had the right of way. Those involved have so far not been identified. As in the case of all such accidents, Florida Highway Patrol will investigate further to see if drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident. NW 2nd Avenue was shut down for several hours while officers conducted their investigation. No further details have been released.
