Two teens were involved in a fatal car accident that took place in Doral on Saturday, July 25th. The crash was reported on NW 12th Street near the intersection with NW 107th Avenue in Doral around 7 a.m. According to a spokesperson for the Doral Police Department, a 17-year-old boy from Fort Lauderdale was traveling at a high rate of speed on NW 107th Avenue when he made a right turn onto NW 12TH Street. The vehicle spun out of control and left the roadway before crashing into a tree. After the impact, the car burst into flames. Unfortunately, the 17-year-old boy died at the scene of the crash. His 17-year-old passenger was airlifted to Kendall Regional Hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries. The Miami-Dade Police Department and Fire Rescue briefly closed down NW 12th Street to conduct an investigation of the accident scene. No additional information has been released.
