Source: NBC6 South Florida

Roland Steadham, who was formerly chief meteorologist at WTVJ-NBC6, died Tuesday in a small plane crash in Idaho.
Deputies with the Gem County Sheriff’s Office responded before 11 a.m. to Payette River, northwest of Boise, for a report of a small plane crash, officials said.
Investigators believe the plane clipped a power line and then crashed on ice in the river. Two male occupants on the plane were fatally injured, deputies said.
KBOI-TV in Idaho identified one of the victims as Steadham, who served the South Florida market and other cities as a meteorologist before landing at the CBS affiliate KBOI-TV.
Steadham was at WTVJ from 1996 to 2006, during which he served as chief meteorologist.
According to his station bio, he was a commercially licensed pilot and skydiver.
Steadham leaves behind his wife, six children and grandchildren.
