A man was killed early Tuesday in a fiery crash on State Road 7 in Hollywood, according to fire rescue.
Hollywood Fire Rescue officials said crews responded to the crash at about 2:52 a.m. in the northbound lanes of State Road 7 just south of Mayo Street.
Once there, authorities found the vehicle “fully involved in fire” and quickly put out the flames.
The driver had been thrown from the vehicle, and his body was found nearby. Fire rescue said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
More information about the victim was not immediately available.
Because the intersection is blocked, drivers are advised to take Southwest 56th Avenue as an alternate route.
“Hollywood Police Department remained on scene, and Florida Power & Light was requested to assess the structural integrity of the damaged pole due to significant impact and exposed rebar,” fire rescue said.
