One person was taken to the hospital after a train struck them Saturday night in Miami, police said.
According to Miami Police, the collision happened at Northwest First Avenue and 14th Street.
When the pedestrian was found, they were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Andrae Nelson said he’s like many people in South Florida who have constantly heard stories of trains hitting people.
On Saturday night, he came across the crash in Overtown.
“It’s very tragic to know that it continues to happen,” Nelson said. “It’s very sad because it’s not the first time something like that has happened.”
Detectives said they’re still investigating the circumstances.
Saturday’s crash is the latest in South Florida involving a train and either a car or someone who was physically on the tracks.
Data from the Federal Railroad Administration shows four crashes in Miami in 2025, down from 11 last year, no deaths and 1 injury.
