2 children ejected from vehicle after Turnpike crash in southwest Miami-Dade

Two children were ejected from a Honda early Wednesday morning after a two-vehicle collision on Florida’s Turnpike in southwest Miami-Dade, authorities confirmed.

According to Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Alex Camacho, the crash involving the black Honda and a white SUV occurred around 12:35 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway near Southwest 128th Street.

Camacho said two juveniles were ejected from the Honda. Both were transported to Jackson South Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The roadway was reopened just before 2 a.m., Camacho confirmed.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
