2 Dead And 4 Hospitalized After Hit and Run in Wilton Manors

According to a spokesperson from Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, two children died and four were hospitalized after a driver hit several children in a residential street just after 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of NW 24th Street and 9th Avenue in Wilton Manors. According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the hit-and-run occurred Monday just before 3 p.m. and two victims were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. At this time, a spokesperson for the Broward’s sheriff’s office has confirmed that the driver sped off after hitting the two victims. Detectives are currently looking into this and a full investigation is underway as they gather surveillance video from area residents. Two of the children who were taken to the hospital are in critical condition and two are in serious condition. No further details have been released at this time.
