According to a spokesperson for the Davie Police Department, two men were killed in a multivehicle car accident in Davie on Tuesday August 12, 2020. The crash took place at the intersection of 73 street and Griffin Road in Davie at around 8 p.m. Tuesday night. The crash occurred when two men were driving westbound on Griffin Road when they made a left turn and were suddenly T-boned by another driver headed eastbound on Griffin road. Officials say two men were killed in the crash. While one of the men was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, the other man was airlifted to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver in the other vehicle, who did not have any passengers, was also airlifted to the hospital with life threatening injuries. Police officials shut down parts of Griffin Road on Tuesday night in order to conduct an investigation as to the cause of the accident. An initial investigation shows that the accident was likely caused by a combination of speeding and impairment.
