A spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Police Department says a man was seriously injured after his vehicle drove through the window of the well-known Zak the Baker Bakery located at 295 NW 26th St in Wynwood. The crash occurred earlier this week on Tuesday when a man lost control of his white 1979 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and slammed into the building, damaging the structure, and destroying the hurricane-impact doors. According to employees who were interviewed, the bakery was open making a batch of sourdough bread. Thankfully, none of the bakery workers were injured. Police officials said that the man appeared to have a medical emergency which caused him to lose control of his Chevrolet. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived on the scene and took the man to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead as he succumbed from his injuries. Police quickly shut down the road between NW 26th Street and NW 2nd Avenue to investigate the accident scene but it has since been reopened.
