Authorities took a suspect into custody after a chase in Miami-Dade County ended with several vehicles being struck.
It happened Thursday night, starting at around 9:55 p.m.
According to police, a suspect struck a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office narcotics detective and took off, leading deputies on a chase that ended in the westbound lanes of the Dolphin Expressway near the exit for Northwest 12th Avenue.
It was there that one man was taken into custody.
During the chase, deputies said the suspect struck three MDSO vehicles, one of which was a K-9 unit, and as a result, the K-9 inside the vehicle was injured.
The dog was rushed to an emergency veterinarian hospital, but deputies did not have any updates on its condition.
No other injuries were reported.
Deputies did not provide any information on the identity of the suspect, or what they were being investigated for before the chase began.
