Hit and Run Car Accidents in Florida

Although leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident is against the law, it happens every day. In Florida, the law is very clear on that no driver involved in an accident should ever leave when an injury has occurred. Pedestrians and bicyclists are particularly vulnerable in hit-and-run traffic accidents. Even so, when a hit and driver is not able to be found, pedestrians and bicyclists can still seek to obtain compensation through their own motor vehicle insurance company if they purchased uninsured motorist coverage at the time, they purchased their policy. This is also the  case if the driver is eventually found and happens to be underinsured. The injured victim can simply file a claim against their own auto insurance company in the form of an underinsured motorist claim. If the police are not able to find the hit and run driver, there is still some hope for injury victims. Injury victims can still file a claim against their own insurance provider as an uninsured motorist claim and obtain necessary benefits to pay for medical bills, lost wages, physical therapy, property damage and any other damages sustained. Victims of hit and run accidents need the help of an experienced hit and run accident attorney lawyer that can help them get them the best settlement from their insurance company. As in most cases of insurance claims, the insurance company will only pay the bare minimum and will often offer a quick settlement to resolve a claim.
