An Okaloosa County pageant queen has died after a crash in Santa Rosa County at Highway 4 and Hurricane Lake Road.
Family members identified the victim as 18-year-old Kadance Frederickson — the Miss Okaloosa County Teen representative at the Miss Florida Teen USA pageant in 2024.
Kadance, a Baker School student, was killed when her vehicle collided head-on with a tractor trailer around 2:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17.
Family members said that Kadance had just received nine college acceptances and planned on being a veterinarian.
Kadance had created the ‘Kada’s Promise’ organization, collecting over 12,000 teddy bears and blankets and distributing them to children enduring abuse and trauma, according to the organization’s website.
Her family will continue the organization in her name.
