According to a spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Police Department, a man had to be airlifted to the hospital after an argument escalated into a shooting following a car accident in the parking lot of a Walgreens in NW Miami-Dade. According to Miami-Dade Police, there was a crash involving two cars at the Walgreens at the intersection of 94th Street and Northwest Seventh Avenue at around 5:30 p.m on Thursday October 15, 2020. Police said the passenger of one of the vehicles and the driver of the other vehicle got into an argument. Then, the passenger fired at least three shots, striking the driver, who then walked across the street to a 7-Eleven to seek help. According to witnesses, the man tried to drive off but ended up backing into the bushes, stumbled out of the car and walked over across the street where he ended up in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue paramedics tended to the victim’s injuries before airlifting him to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition. Officers said that the car containing the passenger that shot the driver sped away from the scene carrying three to four people inside. Officers blocked off some roadways as they combed the scene for evidence. No further details have been released at this time.
Legal Claims Against Aggressive Drivers
Traffic accidents caused by aggressive driving or road rage can lead to devastating injuries and even death. Traffic and mistakes caused by other drivers can incite anger in some drivers. This is commonly referred to as “road rage.” Generally, road rage is defined as irrepressible anger that results from an incident involving a car and which leads to behavior intended to harm people or property. Many commentators and experts believe that road rage is a thought process that drivers go through when they have feelings of rage and thoughts of retaliation. If you sustained injuries in a car crash caused by someone else’s aggressive driving or due to road rage, you likely want to recover full compensation for your injury, any lost wages, pain and suffering and any other applicable damages. When you are the victim of a car accident caused by road rage or aggressive driving, you may be able to sue the other driver for his or her actions and your injury. If you can identify the person who caused the incident, you may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit against that person.
