Gathering Info and Seeking Treatment After a Motorcycle Accident

Your life may change in a split second after being in an accident. Motorcycle accidents  are more commonly caused by a larger vehicle. The driver of a larger vehicle may be  distracted, underestimate the speed of the motorcycle, or fail to obey traffic signs, among  numerous other possibilities. When it comes to motorcycle accidents, you can be severely impaired. Keep in mind, Personal Injury Protection, known as PIP, is not available on  motorcycles in Florida, and your auto PIP will not cover you while on a motorcycle. The  rules also differ according to age. Persons over 21 may ride without a helmet but must  have a minimum of $10,000 coverage in health insurance or medical coverage. Motorcycle drivers under the age of 21 must wear a helmet. Since most motorcycle  accidents involve a larger vehicle, it is highly recommended that you wear a helmet  regardless of age. This will protect you and further prevent the negligent party from  alleging you are partially or wholly at fault for your own injuries.
