A spokesperson for Miami Beach Police Department says the crash occurred near Northeast Second Avenue and 13th Street, just after 1 a.m., Saturday. Cell phone footage taken just after the crash showed the car, which Fort Lauderdale police said was a McLaren, engulfed in flames and split into several pieces. Police believe the driver was speeding, as they continue to investigate the crash. Investigators said both the driver and passenger were rushed to Broward Health Medical Center in serious condition. An investigation into the cause of the accident is still ongoing.
