Police: Homestead cop arrested on DUI charge after 3-vehicle crash in Florida City

Source: WPLG Local 10

A Homestead police officer was arrested Tuesday following a rollover crash that involved three vehicles in Florida City, authorities confirmed.
Henry Quintero, 43, faces one count each of leaving the scene of a crash with no serious injury, DUI with refusal to submit to testing, and reckless driving, according to jail records.
Local 10 News has learned that Quintero has since posted his bond of $2,800. Florida City police said the crash occurred Tuesday around 3:30 p.m. at U.S. 1 and East Palm Drive. They said Quintero’s vehicle struck another car, causing it to overturn and collide with a third vehicle.
Witnesses followed and documented Quintero fleeing the scene, and traffic camera footage confirmed he was traveling at a high rate of speed, ran a red light, and continued through southbound lanes before turning east on East Palm Drive without rendering aid, according to his arrest report.
A passenger in one of the vehicles sustained multiple lacerations and required fire rescue, the report stated.
Authorities said Quintero was transported to Jackson West Medical Center for an evaluation, but refused treatment and declined any blood testing. They also confirmed that body-worn video footage was used and citations were issued.
