A spokesperson for the Florida Highway Patrol says a car accident has left two individuals severely injured after a car crashed into their vehicle while they were headed north on the Palmetto Expressway. The accident occurred when a driver lost control of his car and struck another vehicle. The second vehicle crossed a median and slammed into the vehicle in which the two individuals were in. Deputies said the crash left one of the individuals with a serious head injury. Emergency first responders rendered first aid to the two persons before transporting them to a nearby hospital. The driver who caused the crash was said to have suffered minor injuries which were treated at the scene of the accident. No further details have been released as the authorities are still looking into the cause of the accident. The accident remains under investigation.
