The woman is still recovering from her injuries. The police continue to look for the perpetrator who caused the accident.

Hit & Run Accidents in Miami

In Florida, motorists who are involved in a traffic accident are required to stop and assess the scene of the accident. This is especially important when the crash involves property damage and/or injury or death. This is also important because an injured victim may be left at the scene of the accident with life-threatening injuries and no one to call for assistance. Additionally, without insurance coverage information and a police report detailing the crash, it can be extremely difficult for an injured party to obtain compensation from the at-fault driver. If a driver fails to stop at an accident scene in the state of Florida, that driver could be charged with the  crime of hit-and-run. Hit-and-run crashes are serious, and the police will conduct an investigation to try to find the driver who left the scene of the accident. This is especially true when someone is severely injured or dies in the crash. In most cases, these types of car crashes are caused by drunk drivers who don’t want to get a DUI or drivers who for some reason don’t want to come into contact with police. Additionally, some hit and run car crashes are caused by drivers who do not have insurance to pay for the damages. In either case, hit and run car crashes can often leave victims seriously or fatally injured. If you or someone you love has been injured in a hit and run crash, it is vital that you comprehend the legal options you have at your disposal. Sadly, injured victims are usually left struggling to obtain compensation from their own insurer and even if the perpetrator is later identified, it can be difficult to collect from the driver because the either don’t have any insurance coverage or have very little insurance coverage available to pay for your damages.
