A violent crash early Monday morning claimed one life and shut down both directions of Countyline Road, authorities said.
Police from Miramar and Miami Gardens responded to the 7000 block after reports of a serious wreck involving two vehicles. When officers arrived, they found one driver still inside a car. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue pronounced that person dead at the scene.
Investigators said a 2017 Honda Civic was traveling the wrong way in the westbound lanes when it slammed head-on into a 2020 Tesla Model 3. The other driver was taken to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital with injuries. Officials have not confirmed which driver survived, and names have not yet been released.
Aerial footage from the scene showed one car burned beyond recognition and another crushed from the impact. The Broward Sheriff’s Office conducted an overhead sweep to ensure no additional victims were involved.
