1 Person Dead, 6 Others Injured in SW Miami-Dade Crash

One person was killed, and six others were hospitalized after a crash in southwest Miami Dade last night. The crash took place around 7 p.m. on Quail Roost Drive near Florida’s  Turnpike. A spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Police says a man driving a white  Mercedes SUV was driving the wrong way down the street before colliding head-on with  other vehicles just west of Florida’s Turnpike. The SUV ended up on its side. The Florida  Highway Patrol confirmed that the Mercedes was heading east in the westbound lanes of  Quail Roost Drive. One of the vehicles that was involved in the crash was a white Hyundai  sedan with a father and son inside. The son, a 58-year-old man who was sitting in the  front passenger seat, died at the scene of the accident. He said the father was taken to  Kendall Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Five others were also  hospitalized. In total, troopers say five cars were involved and 10 people. The conditions  of the driver and other victims are remain unclear.
