According to a spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Police Department, an officer was involved in a crash with an SUV Wednesday night just after 9:30pm that resulted in the other vehicle ending up on its roof. According to the spokesperson, the crash occurred at the intersection of West Flagler Street and Northwest 17th Avenue in the city’s Little Havana neighborhood. The black Chevrolet SUV that flipped over onto its roof appeared to have also struck a traffic light pole. There was also heavy front-end damage to the marked police cruiser. Emergency first responders transported three people to Jackson Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, including two officers. The westbound lanes from Northwest 16th Avenue to Northwest 17th Avenue on West Flagler Street were shut down for about two hours as authorities investigated before both vehicles were towed away. The cause of the crash remains unclear. 3 Reasons to Hire a Car Accident Lawyer
Stalemate With Insurance Company: If your auto insurance provider is unwilling to make a fair settlement offer on your claim or you believe your claim is worth substantially more than what is being offered, hiring an attorney may provide that extra push you need to get the insurance company to offer a fair and adequate settlement to resolve your personal injury claim.
Insurance Company is Denying Liability: A lot of injury victims are surprised to find out that the insurance company is denying liability on behalf of their insured with respect to their accident or incident. This shouldn’t be a surprise. In fact, starting off a claim with an outright denial is common practice in the insurance industry. The reason for this is that auto insurance companies think that by denying liability on your claim, you may get frustrated and give up or simply drop your claim altogether. In some claims, with a bit of persistence, the insurance company will eventually come around and offer some type of initial settlement offer. However, sometimes an insurance company will simply refuse to negotiate a settlement, and this is when hiring a personal injury is probably a good idea. At that point, you really have nothing to lose as an injury victim.
Insurance Company is Denying Coverage: For many injury victims, they may be shocked to find out that the insurance company they are dealing with is denying coverage for their claim based on a general provision in their policy or some other obscure exclusion. When this happens, make sure to request a copy of the insurance policy or simply hire a personal injury attorney to take on your case and they will surely request a copy of the insurance policy in order to find out if the reason for the denial is supported by the insurance policy
