An Alabama man faces multiple charges after he’s accused of causing a “dangerous” hit-and-run crash on a busy Georgia road, authorities said.
The 31-year-old was charged with hit and run, improper lane change, reckless driving and reckless conduct in the Jan. 28 collision along Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.
Authorities said the man was driving a tractor-trailer when he tried switching lanes to the right, hitting the driver of a silver sedan. The impact caused the car to spin in front of the truck, police said.
The big rig continued to push the car “through two intersections” and eventually came to a stop, according to traffic camera video shared by the police. Afterward, authorities said the tractor-trailer driver left the scene.
The driver of the car wasn’t hurt and called 911, police said.
After the crash, authorities found the tractor-trailer and identified its driver. The man turned himself in at the Gwinnett County Jail on Jan. 31, police said.
Authorities didn’t report any injuries.
