Driver Arrested In Wilton Manors Hit-and-Run that Killed 2 Children, Injured 4

Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a hit-and-run in Wilton Manors that left two children dead and four others hospitalized on Monday afternoon. The man’s involvement in the collision in the area of Northwest 24th Street and Ninth Avenue, Monday afternoon, has been confirmed by the spokesperson for the Broward sheriff’s office. Police say the man overcorrected and turned onto a driveway where a child and an adult relative were walking around a Broward Transit bus. Besides leaving the scene of an accident involving death, the man faces charges of tampering with evidence as well as driving with a suspended license. A Broward County burglary conviction is also on his record. No further details have been released at this time.
