A ma died and another was critically injured after two Ford Super Duty tow trucks collided at the intersection of Biscayne Drive and Old Dixie Highway in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The crash occurred near a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue firehouse and resulted in one of the trucks overturning. Authorities pronounced one driver dead at the scene.
According to reports from Local 10 News, the collision involved a red Ford Super Duty tow truck traveling southbound on Old Dixie Highway and a black Ford Super Duty tow truck approaching from the west on Biscayne Drive. Dash camera footage captured the moment the red truck struck the front of the black truck in the intersection. The force of the impact sent the red truck airborne before it landed on a grassy area nearby and overturned onto its roof.
Authorities reported that an adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the black tow truck sustained critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to review evidence and assess the events that led to the fatal crash.
