Stop Your Car: The first thing you need to do after an accident is to stop at the scene.  You’ll need to exchange information with the other driver this will include license numbers  insurance information vehicle registration and personal contact info. The next thing you  want to do is try to move the vehicle off the roadway. If the car is not operable, turn your hazards on. Also, turn off your ignition as soon as possible. This will prevent any potential gas leaks.

Assess Injuries: Make sure you assess your injuries. Also, talk to your passengers and  see if they have any injuries. Call for help immediately so that you can get first responders  to the accident scene as soon as possible. If your passengers have serious injuries, you  should not move them unless you’re in imminent danger.

Exchange Information: exchange information with the other driver get his license  number’s driver’s license number is insurance policy number take a photograph of A tag  on his vehicle and any other information you can gather from the insurance from the  opposing driver is very important and you want to make sure you get the witnesses names  and addresses people sort of stuck around after the accident last time these people get  impatient may leave before the police arrives and you’ll never be able to find them again  so with their names and addresses you can always contact them later on and get the  information you need to support your support your claim.

Take Notes: if you have time at the scene of the accident, you should make a diagram  of what happened in the accident. Try sketching out what direction or what lane you were  in as well as the other vehicle at the time of the impact.

Take Photos: if you have your cell phone with you, make sure you take as many photos  as you can. Photographs really tell the story and they help refresh your memory later.  Also, make sure you take plenty of pictures of your vehicle and the other vehicle involved  in the accident.
