Man in Custody After Fatal Hit and Run Crash on I-95

According to a spokesperson for the Broward County Police Department, a man accused  of fleeing a fatal car accident on I-95 two years ago in South Florida is now in custody. A  spokesperson for the Broward County Police Department says a confidential informant  gave their office’s task force information that the man was in Raleigh, North Carolina and  proceeded to place the man under police surveillance. Task force officers made the arrest  when they saw the woman driving away from her apartment complex in Raleigh and  pulled the man over at a gas station. The man was taken into custody immediately and is  now awaiting extradition to Florida. According to Miami-area news reports, the man was  a resident of Coral Gables at the time of the hit and run accident which occurred just over two years ago on December 12, 2018 when the man’s pickup truck struck another vehicle  on I-95 in Pompano Beach, north of Miami. News outlets reported that the 62-year-old  driver of the vehicle died at the scene of the crash; the man was not seriously injured. No  further details have been released. This hit and run crash occurred near Pompano Beach. The hit and run crash resulted in one fatality.
