A 43-year-old man died in a boat crash on Lake Monroe over the weekend. The incident occurred on Saturday, May 23rd. According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the man was in a personal watercraft when he was struck by another boat. The boat then fled the scene before officials could arrive. Good Samaritan’s came to the man’s aid and transported him back to shore. He suffered serious injuries and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Authorities are still looking for the boat operator who caused the crash. Witnesses describe the boat as approximately 16 to 18 feet in length with a white center console and a black motor. The boater was described as a white male who was headed south or east on the St. Johns river after the incident.
