One Woman Dead After Multi-Vehicle Bus Accident in Flagami

According to a spokesperson for the Florida Highway Patrol, a 63-year-old woman reportedly died in a crash that occurred just after 7:45am on Friday October 23 in the Flagami area. The multi-vehicle accident involved a school bus and two other vehicles. The crash occurred in the southbound lanes of Northwest 42nd Avenue near FL-968 in Flagami, a report said. The Florida Highway Patrol said that seven elementary students were in the bus but were not injured. When the driver of a Toyota Camry headed southbound on NW 42nd Avenue failed to stop at a red traffic light and collided into the rear of a school bus that was entering the intersection at Northwest 42nd Avenue on a green signal. The driver struck two other vehicles and ended up on top of the concrete divider in the median on NW 42nd Avenue. The driver of the Toyota Camry was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, but she later succumbed to her injuries. Thankfully, the elementary students on board the bus at the time were not injured and neither was the driver. No further details have been released.
