According to a spokesperson for the Broward Police Department, one man was has died after being struck by a driver in Pompano Beach. The authorities have described the crash as a hit and run that took place in the area of Cypress Road and Southeast Fifth Court around 6:30 a.m. on Monday morning. Witnesses say there were four drivers involved in the crash but only one driver remained at the scene of the crash. They also revealed there was low visibility on the roadway at the time of the crash as it was dark and raining. Now investigators are working to find the three drivers who struck the victim and fled the scene. Witnesses said one of the drivers turned around to see what they had hit, but then drove off. No further details have been released at this time as the investigation is still ongoing.
