Teen Dies After Two Vehicle Crash in Pembroke Pines

A member of a high school women’s crew team was killed Wednesday in a two-vehicle  crash near Pembroke Pines. The crash happened when one of the two team vans collided  with a pickup truck. Twelve others were injured, officials said. A spokesperson for the  Pembroke Pines Police Department says the student who died was the front passenger  of the van involved in the crash, which was being driven by one of the coaches. The crash  remains under investigation but according to eyewitnesses, the van was traveling on a  busy road when it turned directly into the path of a red Ram pickup truck that was coming  in the opposite direction. Some of the other 12 victims suffered serious injuries and are  undergoing surgery, officials said. A spokesperson for one of the hospitals that treated  victims said it received five patients from the crash. No further details have been released.  If you or someone you love were recently injured in a motor vehicle accident, our team of  car accident lawyers can help with any issues that may arise in your car accident claim.  We offer trustworthy legal advice to help address any legal issues that apply to your  personal injury claim. Traffic Accidents in Miami

The actions that you take at the scene of a car crash and the timeframe shortly afterwards  are the most important in determining the course your personal injury case will take.  Whether you have been injured in a car crash, slip, and fall accident, because of medical  malpractice, or in any other way, it is important during the very earliest stages take great  care in everything you say and do. Here’s a few steps you should take after an accident:

Get Medical Attention: Go get checked out right away. Go to the emergency room or  local clinic the day of the accident, do not delay. You may not feel like you need to be  taken away in an ambulance, but you will likely not feel so good the day after the crash  or the second day after. The longer you wait to seek medical treatment, the bigger deal  the insurance company attorneys will make about the delay. The insurance company will  try to make it look like you were not hurt in the accident but are just trying to get insurance  money and take advantage of the system. They do not know how you felt at the time of  the accident or the days following, but they will do their best to make you look bad if they  can.

Exchange Insurance Information: Obtain the insurance information of the other parties  involved. Remember, you need to know the name of the other party’s insurance company,  not their agent or agency. You need to get their insurance policy number so that it will be  easier for you to report your claim.

Take Notes: After an accident, it is always a good idea to take notes. Write down what  you were doing and where you were going at the time of the accident, the people you  were with the time and the weather, and any details about what you saw and heard and  felt at the time of the car accident. These observations and notes can prove to be  extremely valuable when liability is in dispute after a traffic accident in south Florida.
