According to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Police Department, new reporting says that Woods was driving 90 mph which is nearly 45 miles over the speed limit when he crashed his SUV last month near LA. Apparently, the Los Angeles County Sheriff said earlier this week that Woods was driving at about 85 mph in a 45 mph Zone. However, he also clarified and said that there were no signs of impairment. Specifically, the sheriff said that the primary causal factor for this traffic collision was driving at a speed unsafe for the road conditions and the inability to negotiate the curve of the roadway. Woods was traveling between 84 and 87 miles per hour when he lost control, crossing over a median and hitting the curb on the opposite of the road. The vehicle struck a tree at an estimated 75 mph and was sent airborne, eventually coming to a stop. No further details have been released. Florida’s No-Fault Insurance System

A car crash can be a very scary and oftentimes frustrating event. After an accident, you may be worried that your motor vehicle insurance is insufficient to cover all personal injury claims and property damage claims. To better prepare for the insurance claims process, it is vital for injury victims to get familiar with the insurance system and how it functions in the state of Florida. Generally, there are three types of automobile insurance systems within the United States. The first form of insurance system is an at fault system of insurance. Under an at fault insurance system, the at fault driver’s insurance policy pays out for all injuries and financial losses resulting from a car accident. Next, we have another insurance system that is called the choice no-fault system. Under a choice no-fault system, every driver gets to choose may choose to purchase a no-fault policy or an at-fault policy. The third type of motor vehicle insurance system is the no-fault insurance system. This is the type of system that is maintained in the state of Florida. Under Florida’s no-fault insurance system, drivers get to purchase an insurance policy that has personal injury protection (PIP). In Florida, all vehicle owners must purchase insurance coverage that is payable regardless of who was at fault in a car accident. For instance, if two or more drivers are found to be responsible for an accident, Florida has adopted the standard of pure comparative negligence. Overall, this standard entitles both drivers to claim a portion of the total amount of recovery. The insurance companies will attribute the appropriate percentage of fault for each driver involved in the accident and split each driver final award based on this finding.
