According to a spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Police Department, a car and motorcycle collided late last night in Miami-Dade killing a man and prompting police to close a portion of the Turnpike for several hours. The fatal crash took place near Exit 26 by Dolphin Mall. According to police, both riders on the motorcycle were ejected in the crash. One of them was pronounced dead at the scene. The other passenger was taken to a hospital but is expected to survive, police said. It’s not known if anyone in the car was injured. The cause of the wreck is under investigation. No further details have been released. An investigation into the cause of the accident is still on going.
